Las Vegas Motor Speedway's Public Relations Department will be providing weekly construction updates as the speedway undergoes its multi-million dollar facelift, which will result in a new fan interactive garage area, a pit road closer to the grandstands, resurfaced and re-banked racing surface and state-of-the-art media center.
In the past week, construction crews have completed the following tasks:
• Completed the demolition of the old pit road including the removal of all concrete retaining walls and pavement.
• Scraped all asphalt from the back straightaway and have begun the process of building the base to elevate the back stretch.
• Begun the removal of asphalt from all turns and the lights on the inside of the racing surface.
• Removed debris associated with the demolition of the media center.
• Begun the soft demolition of Garage 1, which will be torn down to make way for the new Busch Series garage.
