LVMS¿ Cochran receives Jim Duncan Award

as SMI¿s top salesman

Las Vegas Motor Speedway account executive Craig Cochran has been chosen as the recipient of this year¿s Jim Duncan Award.

The honor, which is named for the long-time Lowe¿s Motor Speedway sales executive, awards the top salesperson within Speedway Motorsports Incorporated. The award is voted on by the general managers of all SMI properties.

¿We are very proud of Craig¿s accomplishments and that he has been recognized by his peers for his hard work,¿ said LVMS general manager Chris Powell. ¿Craig is one of many outstanding people who work tirelessly to make Las Vegas Motor Speedway one of the most successful motorsports facilities in the country. It is a credit to Craig, our sales department and the entire speedway staff that he has been recognized for this award.¿

Cochran is responsible for many of the speedway¿s largest accounts. NASCAR sponsors UAW-DaimlerChrysler and Sam¿s Town and NHRA sponsors ACDelco and Summit Racing are on Cochran¿s account list.

¿I¿m honored to be recognized for this award,¿ Cochran said. ¿But this is truly a speedway award and not an individual accomplishment. I am proud to accept on behalf of everyone at the speedway.¿

Cochran, 42, is in his fifth year as a member of the LVMS sales staff. A native of Pineville, W.Va., Cochran came to the speedway after a long radio career with Clear Channel Communications in Winston-Salem, N.C.
