Sam's Town, LVMS Extend Sponsorship Agreement
Friday, March 5, 2004
LAS VEGAS - The NASCAR Busch Series event at Las Vegas Motor
Speedway will continue to be sponsored by Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling
Hall, officials of the sponsoring hotel and the speedway announced
today.
The race name remains the Sam's Town 300, which is the event's
only name in its eight-year history at LVMS.
"We've been very fortunate to find what we believe to be the
best title sponsor in the NASCAR Busch Series," said Chris Powell, LVMS
general manager. "This event has become one of the most popular on the
circuit, and our friends at Sam's Town share a great deal of
responsibility for that success. We're very proud of the fact that this
event has never been known by any name but the Sam's Town 300"
Sam's Town joined with Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the
inaugural NASCAR Busch Series event in 1997. Since that time, crowds
have increased each year, including a crowd estimated by news outlets of
91,000 in 2003.
"We're extremely excited about our sponsorship of the Sam's Town 300
over the years and pleased about our renewal, said Boyd Gaming Vice
President Keith Smith. "We're proud of the excitement the Sam's Town 300
has brought Las Vegas visitors and residents and want to continue this
event for years to come."
