A new racing surface and a new race sponsor will greet fans and drivers at Las Vegas Motor Speedway's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race this fall.
Smith's Food and Drug Stores has signed on as cosponsor of the Sept. 23 Truck Series event. Smith's has joined longtime Truck race sponsor Las Vegas Events to form the Smith's Las Vegas 350. This will mark the first race on the speedway since the track's banking was raised from 12 to 20 degrees and the pit road was moved approximately 250 feet closer to the grandstands.
"It seems that there's a Smith's on virtually every corner in Las Vegas, and we are proud to have one of the country's premier grocery and drug store chains as a new partner," said LVMS general manager Chris Powell. "We also are very appreciative of the longstanding support from Las Vegas Events, which has been involved in various events at the speedway for many years."
Smith's, a division of the Cincinnati-based Kroger Corporation, has 25 stores located in the Las Vegas area.
Tickets for the Smith's Las Vegas 350 are on sale by calling 1-800-644-4444 or by logging on to www.lvms.com.
