Careers on Wheels
Careers on Wheels is an annual event held by many schools in the Clark County School District, which allows students to hear first hand about different careers that are centered around "wheels" or vehicles. Different organizations in the community display their various cars or trucks and talk about their specific career. Las Vegas Motor Speedway is proud to be involved in Careers on Wheels Days and thanks the local drivers who participate in these programs.

Nevada Reading Week
Nevada Reading Week was developed 30 years ago by the Silver State Reading Association, the state division of the International Reading Association. The event was meant to celebrate the joys of reading. Most Clark County schools have one week full of activities, programs, storytelling, dress-up days, all developed by their resident literacy specialists or school administrations. For the past couple years, Las Vegas Motor Speedway has been a proud participant of Nevada Reading Week and for this years' involvement would like thank H-Town Racing for visiting five schools.

Other Community Programs
H-Town Race teams' Race to Success Reading Program 2007-2008 at C.T. Sewell and Dr. Owen C. Roundy Elementary Schools

The goal of this program is to challenge and mentor students through reading, using the H-Town Race Team and local NASCAR racing as a subject of interest to set goals, accept and achieve challenges. The program focuses on fifth graders and will be implemented in partnership with the Elaine Wynn National After School All Star Program. Students receive prizes and recognition for reaching reading goals, as well as earning donations to the school library. LVMS donated over 3,000 tickets to The Bullring as prizes for the students who accomplish their set goals in terms of number of books read.

Las Vegas Motor Speedway will have a "Race to Success" celebration night at The Bullring on May 10th. The students who have read the most books will be honored prior to the race on the Start/Finish Line and all students and their parents will be admitted free of charge.
