J.J Yeley, second in USAC Midget Series points andjust 83 points behind current leader Dave Darland, is hoping to take the USAC Midget Series championship at the Bullring Saturday at the season finale. ¿To be closer to the championship we need all the races we can get,¿ Yeley said. ¿We just have to come to Vegas and win heat races and hopefully go on to win the race.¿ Yeley is the 2002 USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series champion, as well as the defending 2001 Stoops Freightliner Sprint car champion. Yeley is also USAC¿s 2001 ¿Super License¿ champion, having won in all three of USAC¿s National series divisions. J.J. joined current NASCAR Winston Cup champion Tony Stewart as the only repeat winners in the Silver Crown wars in 1998 with wins on the dirt in Sacramento, Calif., and on the pavement in Madison, Ill. The second generation racer also has competed outside the USAC racing realm. He entered the Indianapolis 500 in 1998 and finished a credible ninth in his rookie run.
