Justin Johnson is no stranger to racing championships, but Saturday night he will be chasing the biggest trophy of his young career.

Johnson won a track championship at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Bandoleros and captured the Nevada State Legends Championship. In those days, Johnson was a kid racing against other kids. Saturday night, he wants to be the last man standing at the conclusion of the Super Late Model season at the Bullring.

Johnson holds a narrow two-point lead over veteran racer Scott Gafforini heading into Saturday night's season finale.

"We're going to remain focused on consistency," Johnson said. "Our team believes that is the big factor when it comes to the championship title."

Johnson has climbed the ladder of divisions in racing and has won a championship at every level.

Johnson began his racing career at the Bullring in the Bandolero division in 1999 and captured his first Bullring championship title in 2000.  After competing in the Bandolero division for two seasons, Johnson moved up into the Legends Cars division where he captured the Nevada State Pro title in 2002.

After dominating two divisions, Johnson began his first full season in the Super Late Model division in 2005.

"We are going to run the last event as if we still have five races to go," continued Johnson.

Driving race cars is something Johnson does seven-days-a-week.  Johnson was a driving instructor at the Derek Daly Performance Driving Academy from 2004 to 2005 and is currently an instructor at the Spring Mountain Advanced Driving School in Pahrump.

Headlining Saturday's race card is a 50-lap feature for the Super Late Models.  Joining the Super Late Models will be Late Models (30 laps), IMCA Modifieds (30 laps), Legends Cars (25 laps), Chargers (30 laps) and Bandoleros.
