The Bullring, Las Vegas Motor Speedway's NASCAR-sanctioned 3/8-mile short track, has added two new announcers for the 2013 NASCAR Whelen All-American Racing Series season.

While chief announcer Chet Christner - a veteran of five years behind the Bullring microphone - is on leave doing television work, local racing radio show hosts Allen Michaels and Michael Price will take the reins.

Price and Michaels are the co-hosts of the one-hour On Pit Road Racing show, aired live every Saturday at 9 a.m. on KLAV-AM 1230 in Las Vegas. The show also streams live on www.klav1230am.com.

The local on-air duo made their short track debut here on Aug. 24 and will announce three more shows this year at the Bullring. Hannah Rickards, also a radio veteran, will continue to conduct trackside ceremonies and post-race interviews.

Michaels, a native of North Carolina, has more than 20 years of broadcasting experience and has covered all forms of racing. He worked for Prime Sports Radio as its lead NASCAR reporter and also penned a weekly racing column for a local North Carolina newspaper. Michaels and his wife Diane moved to Las Vegas three years ago.

Michael Price, a.k.a. "M.P.," knows the business from the other side, having worked in sports marketing for the NFL Detroit Lions, MLB Detroit Tigers and NHL Detroit Red Wings.  His first experience in NASCAR was at Brooklyn, Mich., and he has been a fan ever since.

The next race at the Bullring at LVMS is Whelen Night at the Races on Saturday, Sept. 7. Spectator gates will open at 5 p.m.
