Joey Saldana took the lead from polesitter Terry McCarl on the second lap of the 30-lap World of Outlaws A-Feature and survived a rash of late-race caution periods to win tonight at the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The first caution flag flew on lap 4 when Tony Stewart spun in Turn 1 and struck one of the large tires that define the inside of the curve.

"I think we've had a really good car this season, we just haven't had an opportunity to show it until tonight," Saldana said.

Saldana was followed across the finish line by Jason Meyers, Donny Schatz, Cody Darragh and Craig Dolansky. Steve Kinser finished 10th, Tony Stewart was 24th.

World of Outlaws heats were won by: Paul McMahan, Jason Meyers and Steve Kinser. Terry McCarl won the World of Outlaws Dash. Jac Haudenschild won the B-Feature.

MODIFIEDS: Modified heats were won by Greg Mancebo (Tulare, Calif.) and Alex Stanford (Chowchilla, Calif.). Paul Stone (Winton, Calif.) won the 20-lap A-Feature.
