The first day of pro-category qualifying for the second annual NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals is complete and Larry Dixon (Top Fuel Dragster), Tony Pedregon (Funny Car), Angelle Savoie (Pro Stock Bike) and Greg Stanfield currently sit at the head of the class.

Two records fell during Pro Stock Bike qualifying.  Angelle Savoie broke the track record to claim low E.T. with a pass of 7.265 sec., while Shawn Gann eclipsed the top speed mark with a run of 187.36 mph.

Kurt Johnson of Sugar Hill, Ga., broke the track's Pro Stock top speed record at 198.93 mph in his KISS Cavalier.

Of local interest: Pro Stock racer George Marnell of Las Vegas currently sits 23rd (among 34 cars) in qualifying for a 16-car field.  Sean Conner of Boulder City is 12th-quickest in the Pro Stock Bike ranks, while Henderson's Jay Matthews sits just outside the cutoff mark in 18th.

Pro Stock Bike -- Angelle Savoie (Mathews, La.) 7.265 sec./183.72 mph
