Punk rockers Happy Campers to perform at
Midnight Mayhem End-of-Summer Bash Aug. 29

Local punk rock band Happy Campers will perform during the Titan Auto Insurance Midnight Mayhem End-of-Summer Bash at The Strip Aug. 29.  Midnight Mayhem is The Strip's safe alternative to illegal street racing.

The End-of-Summer Bash will mark Happy Campers' second appearance at The Strip this year.  The popular local punk rock group recently entertained race fans at the Midnight Mayhem held during the GM Performance NHRA Sport Compact Nationals last month.

The End-of-Summer Bash also will include the Fastest Street Car Competition.  Street-legal vehicles may compete in five classes:  RWD (Rear Wheel Drive), FWD (Front Wheel Drive), Truck, Motorcycle and Honda/Acura.  All cars must use street tires (no slicks).  Class winners will receive a trophy and an LVMS Jacket.  The overall fastest racer will receive $250 and an additional trophy.  There is no additional entry fee to participate in the Fastest Street Car Competition.

On the lifestyle side of the track, The Strip will present the Miss Midnight Mayhem bikini contest, hip-hop DJs, a cruise-in and burnout contest.

Titan Auto Insurance Midnight Mayhem is open to any street-legal car or motorcycle.  Any licensed driver with proof of insurance may participate.  Entry fee is $10 for racers, $5 for spectators.  Gates open at 9 p.m., with street-style racing from 10 p.m.-2 a.m.  Alcoholic beverages are not allowed.
