Legendary rockers Aerosmith have accepted an invitation to be the guests of Worsham Racing, featuring the Checker, Schuck's, Kragen Funny Cars, driven by Del Worsham and Phil Burkart, and the Artisan Home Entertainment "Terminator 2: Extreme DVD" Funny Car driven by Arnie Karp, during Saturday's qualifying action at this weekend's AC Delco Las Vegas Nationals.

Juggling a busy schedule in conjunction with their concerts (with KISS) Friday and Saturday nights at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, the Boston-based band plans to spend at least three hours at the The Strip at LVMS Saturday afternoon.

Karp has been known as "The Boston Strangler" throughout his career and is an avowed Aerosmith fan. The mutual Boston connection was the foundation of the invitation.

"Being a lifelong Boston resident, I've been an Aerosmith fan since the beginning," Karp said. "We found out they were playing in Las Vegas on the same weekend as our race, and we started making calls to invite them out to the track. We're thrilled they accepted, and even though they're very busy, they're going to great lengths to make the time to come out and see us and check out what we do."
