With the 2004 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series season opener in Pomona, Calif.,  just a few days away, a number of pro teams took one final opportunity to test at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway before heading to the K&N Filters NHRA Winternationals.

Kurt Johnson made a late-afternoon pass Tuesday (after yesterday¿s report was filed at 3:30 p.m.) and went 6.836 sec.(201.46 mph) in his ACDelco Cavalier Pro Stock.  The track record was 6.837 sec., set by Greg Anderson in Oct. 2003.  The record-breaking run is unofficial.

The NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series returns to The Strip at LVMS April 1-4 for the fifth annual SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals.
