Grad Night at The Strip at LVMS June 18;

Midnight Mayhem Summer Kickoff Party free to graduating high school seniors

To reward local high school seniors for their hard work and perseverance, The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is offering free grandstand admission to its Midnight Mayhem Grad Night Summer Kickoff Party on Friday, June 18, to this year's graduating class. Midnight Mayhem, now in its third year of successful operation, is The Strip¿s safe alternative to illegal street racing.

"This is our way of congratulating the young men and women who worked hard all year and stayed in school," said Chris Blair, LVMS' director of drag racing operations.

Country Music Television (CMT) will be on hand to film racers for a one-hour documentary on street racing. Midnight Mayhem recently was featured in Sports Illustrated Magazine, and Spike TV filmed racers at the June 4 event for a television show pilot.

To obtain their free ticket to Midnight Mayhem Grad Night, students should have their high school administrator contact Jayne Pugh at LVMS at (702) 632-8252. The speedway will issue free passes to each school for distribution to their seniors.

Midnight Mayhem has become a safe social event for young adults who enjoy cars and music. Each Midnight Mayhem event features a car show hosted by Euro Entertainment, hip-hop DJs and midway attractions. An NHRA-certified safety crew is on hand in case of an accident. Cans, bottles, weapons and alcohol are not allowed. Beer is not sold during the event and each person must pass through a metal detector when entering the facility.

Midnight Mayhem is open to any licensed driver with a currently-registered car or motorcycle with proof of insurance. Drivers under the age of 18 are required to present a completed parental consent form. Race entry is $10. Spectator admission is $5.
