Kenzevich wins Jerry¿s Nugget Series Super Pro finale at The Strip;

Ishibashi claims Pro title, King of the Track wild card berth

 

 

Jason Kenzevich of Las Vegas defeated T.J. Fogarty to claim the final-round victory in the Super Pro division Saturday night at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  Kenzevich, driving a 1974 Dodge Dart, ran 139.29 mph/9.640 sec. to Fogarty¿s 117.17 mph/11.291 sec. effort.  Jason also earned No. 1 Qualifier status.

Ty Ishibashi of Las Vegas won three times Saturday night: the final round of Pro competition, the King-of-the-Track wild card berth and the Jerry¿s Nugget Casino Reaction-Time Bonus Awards.

Scott Parsons of Monroe, Utah, won the Street finale in his 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass.  Leo Shaver won the Motorcycle class and Billy Fraker took home the Sport Compact trophy.

            Jerry¿s Nugget Casino Reaction-Time Bonus Awards were won by Carl Cannavo (Super Pro), Jaime Martin (Street), Ty Ishibashi (Pro), Leo Shaver (Motorcycle) and Bill Dudley (Sport Compact).  The prize is awarded to the driver/rider who posts the best reaction time on a winning run in the first round of competition.

            Run-for-the-Money winners included: Carl Cannavo (Super Pro), Don Millard (Pro), Errol Farmer (Street) and David Phillips (Motorcycle).

            On Saturday morning, Luke Winters of Vegas won the Thunder division and Stephanie Crifasi claimed the Lightning class in Short Line Express Markets NHRA Jr. Dragster competition.

            Friday night¿s Hankook Tires Drifting Series winners: Scott Trujillo (Amateur), Tommy Suell (Street/Stock), Champa Phetsompha (Modified) and Steph Papadakis (Outlaw).
