fifth annual NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals at The Strip

On October 20, Anheuser-Busch again will host the NHRA Fan Fest at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The event will kick off the fifth annual NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Oct. 20-23.

The free NHRA Fan Fest area will include a driver autograph session from 5-6:30 p.m. (open to all NHRA drivers and riders), the POWERade simulator, ACDelco Extreme Garage, show cars, live entertainment and radio remotes. The Fan Fest will be open from noon to 7 p.m. and will be located in the casino parking lot.

Don Schumacher Racing NHRA drivers will sign autographs at the T.I. (Treasure Island) Hotel & Casino on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 6-8 p.m.

The largest team in NHRA history will host an autograph session which is open to the public and will include Gary Scelzi, pilot of the Mopar/Oakley Dodge Stratus Funny Car, Brut Dodge Stratus driver Ron Capps, the U.S. Army Pro Motorcycle riders Antron Brown and Angelle Sampey, Jeg Coughlin Jr., driver of the Jeg's Mail Order Dodge Stratus Pro Stock, and his teammate Richie Stevens Jr., in the Team Mopar/Valspar Dodge.

Also expected to stop by between other appearances are Melanie Troxel, the quickest and fastest female NHRA driver, who steers the Skull Gear/Torco Race Fuels car, and two-time Top Fuel champion Tony Schumacher, driver of the U.S. Army dragster.  Fans also are invited to take an up-close-and personal look at the 7000-hp, 330-mph Mopar/Oakley and Brut Dodge Funny Cars on display, as well as the U.S. Army-sponsored Pro Stock Motorcycle.

The fifth annual NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals at The Strip at LVMS again will bring the biggest names in professional drag racing to Las Vegas, including NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series stars Tony Schumacher, Brandon Bernstein, John Force, Gary Scelzi, Tony Pedregon, Kurt Johnson, Warren Johnson, Antron Brown and Karen Stoffer.

7 p.m. - Second annual Speedway Children's Charities Texas Hold 'em Poker Tournament at The Cannery Hotel & Casino.  A number of NHRA drivers are scheduled to participate, including Brandon Bernstein, Rod Fuller and David Grubnic.

 

Thursday, Oct. 20

7 a.m. - Pit and spectator gates open.

8 a.m. – Sportsman qualifying.

7 p.m. – Track closed.

Noon-7 p.m. – NHRA Fan Fest at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

5-6:30 p.m. – NHRA Fan Fest free autograph session at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

6-8 p.m. – Don Schumacher Racing free autograph session at T.I. (Treasure Island) Hotel & Casino.

 

Friday, October 21

7 a.m. – Pit and spectator gates open.

7:30 a.m. – Sportsman qualifying.

11:30 – Pro Modified qualifying session.

Noon – Pro Stock Motorcycle and Pro Stock Car qualifying session.

1 p.m. – Top Fuel Dragster and Funny Car qualifying.

3 p.m. -- Pro Modified qualifying session.

3:30 p.m. -- Noon – Pro Stock Motorcycle and Pro Stock Car qualifying session.

4:30 p.m. – Top Fuel Dragster and Funny Car qualifying.

6 p.m. – Sportsman qualifying continues.

1 p.m. – Budweiser Top Fuel Shootout introductions.

1:30 p.m. – First round of Budweiser Top Fuel Shootout.

1:45 p.m. – Top Fuel Dragster and Funny Car qualifying.

2:45 p.m. -- Pro Modified qualifying session.

3:15 p.m. – Second round of Budweiser Top Fuel Shootout.

3:30 p.m. – Pro Stock Motorcycle and Pro Stock Car qualifying session.

4:30 p.m. – Top Fuel Dragster qualifying session.

4:50 p.m. – Final round of Budweiser Top Fuel Shootout.

5 p.m. – Funny Car qualifying session.

5:45 p.m. – First round of Pro Modified eliminations.

10 a.m. – Pre-race ceremonies.
