ACDelco renews title sponsorship of NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals

at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

"What happen in Vegas stays in Vegas." ACDelco has taken this popular tourism slogan to heart, renewing its sponsorship of the NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals for three more years. The agreement will make ACDelco, a global leader in automotive replacement parts and services, the title sponsor for eight consecutive years.

The fifth annual NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals runs Oct. 20-23, 2005. ACDelco has reached a third multi-year agreement with the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) and The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to continue as title-rights sponsor of the second of two NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series events held annually.  It is the 22nd of 23 events in the $50 million NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series for 2005.

"ACDelco is a long-time sponsor of NHRA drag racing and the NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals presents a perfect opportunity for us to showcase our passion as 'Real Car Guys,'" said Sue Christopherson, Event Marketing Manager for GM Service and Parts Operations. "We're delighted to build on our successful relationship with the NHRA and Las Vegas Motor Speedway by renewing our sponsorship through 2008."

The event is a key element in ACDelco's marketing activities leading up to the Automotive Marketing Aftermarket Industry Week trade show that attracts more than 80,000 attendees. "Combining the excitement of Las Vegas with the power of NHRA championship drag racing produces a winning combination that leverages ACDelco's comprehensive motorsports marketing program as both a team and product sponsor," said Christopherson.

The commitment means ACDelco's involvement with the NHRA will continue well into the future. ACDelco is the primary sponsor of Kurt Johnson's Chevrolet Cobalt in Pro Stock competition. Just recently, ACDelco announced a three-year extension of Johnson, keeping the Minn. native in his familiar red, white and blue ACDelco livery through the 2008 season.

ACDelco is a global leader in automotive replacement parts and services offering products for virtually all vehicles. Headquartered in Grand Blanc, Mich., ACDelco markets automotive replacement parts worldwide under its brand name.  For more information, call 1-800-ACDelco or log on to www.acdelco.com.
