BREAKING NEWS: The Major League of Monster Truck event that was originally scheduled to be held at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway has been moved to the half-mile dirt oval at LVMS.  The date will remain September 21.

"The last two stops for the series were held on the dirt tracks at Lowes Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway," said Chris Blair, LVMS' vice president of racing operations.  "The large infield areas allowed them to create more formidable obstacles and longer runs that would not be possible with our drag strip setting.  We welcome this change since it will make for an even more enjoyable event for the fans."

The Major League of Monster Trucks will debut its unique style of Monster Truck racing at the half-mile dirt oval at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday, Sept. 21, at 8 p.m. -- the night before the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Smith's Las Vegas 350 at the superspeedway on Sept. 22. This promises to be an exciting evening with side-by-side Monster Truck racing at more than 80 mph within the confines of The Strip.

The MLMT event will feature the biggest names in Monster Truck racing, with a 12-truck field, including the return of Bigfoot and two-time world champion Madusa. Also included will beEl Matador, King Krunch, Samson, T. Maxx and Sudden Impact.

The 8,500-11,000-lb. trucks, equipped with engines producing up to 2,200 hp, will qualify for positions in three preliminary rounds of head-to-head competition and two trucks will reach the fourth-and-final round of the night.

"We're bringing the racing back to Monster Trucks at faster speeds with higher jumps on tracks containing bigger obstacles," said Major League of Monster Trucks President Joe Froome. "Today's form of Monster Truck racing at venues such as LVMS and Kentucky Speedway brings an elevated level of competition that can't be seen anywhere. Trucks compete on a course that challenges a driver's ability as well as the durability of the race machine."

Trucks also will catch air and crush cars during a freestyle competition that will follow the race competition. The popular Thunder Trucks will compete on a specially-designed course with the daredevils of Freestyle Motocross also demonstrating their tricks on motorcycles.
