John Scialpi of Phelan, Calif., won Sunday’s Pro Street final at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to claim top honors at the Pacific Street Car Association’s Accufab West Coast Shootout. Scialpi defeated perennial favorite Clint Hairston of Bakersfield Calif., although Hairston’s car was more than 10 mph faster.

The PSCA’s ( Pro Street division – the sanctioning body’s fastest class – is run heads-up style (no dial-in and the first car to the finish line wins) and Scialpi’s 1957 Chevrolet ran 6.341 sec./225.41 mph to Hairston’s GTO’s 6.486 sec./235.76 mph.

Hairston recently set the PSCA top speed record of 238 mph recently in California and nearly topped his own mark while racing in Las Vegas. Hairston set both low E.T. (6.180) and top speed (241.54 mph) marks in qualifying, but was unable to back up his run to set a new speed record.

Doug Sikora of Barstow, Calif., defeated Rich Ziering of San Jose, Calif., for Outlaw 10.5 honors.

Randy Jones of Monarch Beach, Calif, defeated Tony Aneson of N. Hollywood for Hot Street honors.

Roger Holder of Bakersfield, Calif., defeated Allen Stewart of Palmdale, Calif., for the Extreme Drag Radial title.

The Wild Street crown went to Kevin Young (Idaho Falls, Ida.) over Jeff Young (Idaho Falls, Ida).

Dana Westover of Las Vegas drove his 1993 Supra to a 161-mph win over Frank Yee of Las Vegas in the Limited Street final.

Carl Gagnon of Las Vegas won the Trophy class over Las Vegas’ Sal Cachia.

Ty Ishibashi of Las Vegas defeated Andy Pressimone (Las Vegas) for Open Comp honors.

Steve Fulgham of Laguna Hills, Calif., topped Dan Hale of Simi Valley, Calif., in Street Challenge competition.

Dave Wallis of Las Vegas claimed the Bracket 1 winner’s check over Joe Niswonger of Las Vegas.

Super Street honors went to Dick Krieger of Henderson over Ryan Rabe of Murrieta, Calif.

Ken Spears of Las Vegas defeated Glen Copley of Las Vegas for the Quick Street win.

Paul Wolfe of Hemet, Calif., won the Mean Street class.

Dan Marucino of Alta Loma, Calif., won the Mustang Madness final over Dan Hale.
