Jeff Green's lap time of 170.068 mph posted during Monday's morning session remains on top after day two of NASCAR Preseason Thunder Las Vegas. Jaime McMurray posted the fastest speed of the day during the morning session with a lap of 169.316 mph. Green was fastest during the afternoon session with a lap of 169.263 mph. Green and McMurray were among 44 drivers on hand to test their cars for the March 12 UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400. "We've got a good team, support from Hendrick Motorsports and good people and it shows," said Bootie Barker, crew chief of the No. 66 Best Buy car. "This test session is pretty indicative of what we have." Jimmie Johnson spun during the morning session and rookie David Stremme lost control of his car after blowing an engine and hit the wall during the afternoon. "Everything had been going pretty good, and we've been learning a lot, but the motor just expired getting into the corner," said Stremme. "I'm kind of a victim of my own oil I guess. It just slid up in the wall. It wasn't real bad, but the car sustained some body damage. It happened down in turn three, just as you arc in it, it let go. It didn't hit hard." Kurt Busch (168.903 mph), Jeff Burton (168.666 mph) and Mark Martin (168.518 mph) rounded out the top five drivers with practice times. NASCAR Preseason Thunder Las Vegas concludes Wednesday.
