Las Vegas Motor Speedway has augmented its reputation as one of the top facilities in which to attend a NASCAR race by making recent enhancements to the RV experience for fans who "live" on the grounds during NASCAR Weekend.

The two major improvements include the paving of more than 1,100 RV spaces and making shower facilities free to anyone in the RV lots.

"Each year, we try to enhance the experience for our race fans based on their feedback," said LVMS president Chris Powell. "Our guests in motorhomes are some of our most loyal, and the paving of the Boulevard RV Lot and the advent of free showers for all RV'ers will be a real bonus for them. We're very proud of our track record here in regard to listening to the race fans, and we know this will make the RV experience at LVMS among the best at any sports venue."

Last year, USA Today named Las Vegas Motor Speedway as one of the 10 best tracks in the United States in which to attend a NASCAR race. In December, LVMS was selected as Speedway Motorsports' Speedway of the Year for the second year in a row.

In the past month, LVMS paved 968 RV parking spaces in the Boulevard A, B and C lots behind the backstretch along Las Vegas Boulevard. An additional 168 spaces were paved in the Bullring RV lot, which is located next to the 3/8-mile short track.

The shower units consist of eight portable trailers, each with 16 private showers and dressing areas. Two of the trailers will be located in the speedway infield, two in the Boulevard A, B and C lots and one each in the Boulevard D, Bullring, Checkered Flag and Burnout RV lots. The showers will be available Thursday through Sunday on NASCAR Weekend.

Fans who held reserved RV spots for this year's Kobalt 400 race weekend have until May 30 to renew their spaces for the 2015 race for the same price they paid in 2014.

The 2015 NASCAR Weekend is tentatively scheduled for March 6-8 and will feature the Kobalt 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, the Boyd Gaming 300 Nationwide Series race and Stratosphere Pole Day. Additional information can be obtained by calling 1-800-644-4444 or visiting
