Night of Fire to feature special treats at The Bullring at LVMS
Easily the most popular race night of the year at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the short track's annual Night of Fire is set to kick off the Fourth of July weekend in style on Friday night.
In addition to a full schedule of racing, the special night will include waterless boat races, the introduction of skid plate racing, Vegas Drift drifting exhibitions and post-race fireworks. The evening's racing will be anchored by a 76-lap "Spirit of '76" feature in the NASCAR Super Late Model division, the longest race of the regular season at the 3/8-mile paved oval.
In addition to the NASCAR Super Late Models, NASCAR Super Stocks, Grand American Modifieds and Bombers, as well as USLCI Legends and USLCI O'Hanley's Bandolero Bandits and Outlaws, will see action. The Bombers feature will be a 25-lap "Breakout race," where drivers will be penalized with a mandatory stop on pit road for breaking the 20-second barrier on any lap.
Fans will receive free U.S. flags upon entering the track, the LVMS booth will once again offer visitors free merchandise and the ability to sign up for raffle prizes and table games and a balloon artist will be provided for attendees.
The Night of Fire is The Bullring's last race until Aug. 22, when NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action will resume after a seven-week break to avoid the summer swelter. That night's racing will be preceded by the inaugural Las Vegas Motor Speedway Show & Shine benefiting Speedway Children's Charities on the track from noon to 4 p.m. Pacific Time, with a number of Las Vegas-area car clubs expected to attend and compete for prizes.
One of the most affordable entertainment options in Las Vegas, the Bullring's annual series features family friendly concession prices that include $2 hot dogs and Coca-Cola products and $3 Budweiser beer. Spectators can also save money by purchasing admission tickets in advance by visiting or calling the LVMS ticket office at 702.644.4444 or online at LVMS.com.
Gates open for spectators at 5 p.m. on Friday, opening ceremonies are set for 7 p.m. and racing follows immediately.
