For the second consecutive year, Las Vegas Motor Speedway will erect additional seating in order to accommodate record demand for tickets to its annual spring NASCAR Weekend.  The additional seating will be sold as part of a three-race package called the "Las Vegas Triple Play." Race fans purchasing the $88 tickets for the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 NASCAR Winston Cup Series race March 2 also will receive a general-admission ticket for the Sam's Town 300 NASCAR Busch Series event March 1.  LVMS also adds a free ticket to the Sept. 27 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series night race.

Triple-Play seats now are available on this website or by calling the LVMS ticket office at 1-800-644-4444.

"Ticket sales for the upcoming NASCAR events have exceeded all expectations," said Chris Powell, president and general manager of LVMS.  "The increased demand made the decision to erect more seats an easy one."

The decision was made last week by LVMS officials to add the temporary seating, which is situated outside Turn 3.  That was two months earlier than a similar decision prior to the 2002 race weekend.

"The demand for tickets is staggering compared to this time a year ago," Powell said.  "In 2001 we were well ahead of 2000. This year has been nothing short of incredible. And the Triple Play package, with three tickets to three events, provides fans with a tremendous opportunity to see three exciting NASCAR races for one low price. Once these tickets go on sale, we expect them to be sold as fast as the others."

Sterling Marlin will be looking to pick up his second consecutive victory at LVMS. Superstars such as four-time NASCAR Winston Cup champion Jeff Gordon, 2002 Winston Cup champ Tony Stewart and young stars Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Las Vegas' Kurt Busch will be among his toughest challengers. Qualifying for both the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 and Sam's Town 300 gets under way on Friday, Feb. 28.

There also will be a 100-lap Super Late Model race on the Bullring on Thursday, Feb. 27, and the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Sprint Cars will compete at the half-mile dirt oval on Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, March 1. For ticket information please call 1-800-644-4444 or log on to
