LVMS Construction update (July 31-Aug. 4)

Las Vegas Motor Speedway's Public Relations Department will be providing weekly construction updates as the speedway undergoes its multi-million dollar facelift, which will result in a new fan interactive garage area, a pit road closer to the grandstands, resurfaced and re-banked racing surface and state-of-the-art media center.

In the past week, construction crews have completed the following tasks:

Completed all paving on the superspeedway.

Restored approximately 80 percent of the SAFER barrier.

Began internal construction of the new Busch Series garage.

Started installation of the irrigation system for the tri-oval grass.

Completed all infrastructure and underground work on the new media center.

Began grading parts of the infield to make room for more camping spaces.

Continued the widening of the entrance road to the vehicular tunnel.
