All military personnel and veterans will be honored this Saturday night at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a special “2-for-1” ticket offer in the Memorial Day weekend short track racing action featuring eight main events at the fast 3/8-mile paved oval.

Known as “Military & Veterans Appreciation Night,” any attendee with a military or veteran's identification card will receive admission for two spectators to witness some of the best racing competition on the West Coast with a variety of short-track classes from the USCLI Bandoleros and Legends cars to the high-speed NASCAR Pro Late Model stocks and the wild Modifieds.

“We wanted to salute our military and veteran on a special weekend,” said T.J. Clark, a former NASCAR competitor and Bullring director. “With Nellis Air Force Base so near to the Bullring, it’s a natural to give them the opportunity to see our great short track action up close with a special rate. We hope the local short-track racing fans can come out and enjoy the competition as well as paying their gratitude to our military personnel.”

Drivers from across the Southwest will converge on the Bullring for high-speed contests with wheel-to-wheel, bumper-to-bumper racing beginning at 7 p.m. Qualifying, heat races and special feature events will get underway at 5:10 p.m. A “special” opening ceremonies celebrating Military personnel and veterans on Memorial Day Weekend will take place at 6:56 p.m. This is the Bullring’s 37th season as a West Coast NASCAR short-track hub which produced the likes of Kurt and Kyle Busch.

The recent on-track action at the Bullring has been outstanding with some of the West Coast’s top young drivers showing their talents in the Sigma Performance Services Pro Late Model division with teenagers Tanner Reif of Henderson, Nev., Cody Keimele of Riverside, Calif, R.J. Smotherman of Pahrump, Nev., and Jake Bollman of Huntington Beach, Calif., scheduled to take on veterans Jeffrey Peterson of Grand Terrace, Calif., and Chris Clyne of Las Vegas in the 50-lap feature Saturday night.

“The competition has been very strong in the Pro Late Model class at the Bullring this year,” said 15-year-old Reif. “We have some of the top young racers taking on the veterans, all in excellent machinery. I expect the action to be fierce in this Saturday’s 50-lapper. After two second place finishes this year, I’m ready to get to the top of the winner’s podium.”

In Saturday’s 40-lap Mojave Construction NASCAR 602 Modified main event, multi-time track champion Doug Hamm of Las Vegas goes for a third consecutive feature victory in his popular No. 4X against a stellar field including April race winner Justin Johnson of Las Vegas, Ed Rhead of Bountiful, Nev., Sam and Kyle Jacks of Las Vegas and Kayli Barker also of Las Vegas.

Other feature races this Saturday night in “Military & Veterans Appreciation Night” will include the two 12-lap USCLI Bandolero Bandits/Outlaws events, two 25-lap USCLI Legends mains, a 20-lap Super Stock race, a 25-lap NASCAR Nostalgia Street Rods Bombers contest, 40-lap Mojave Construction NASCAR 602 Modified event and 50-lap Sigma Performance Service Pro Late Models finale.

Gates open at 5 p.m., with Pro Late Model qualifying at 5:10 p.m. and Bandoleros and Legends first feature races beginning at 5:25 p.m. followed by heat races in Bombers, Super Stocks and Modifieds. Opening ceremonies will take place at 6:45 p.m.

Children 12 and under will be admitted free with a ticketed adult on Saturday and throughout the 2021 Bullring season. Purchase tickets in advance by visiting or calling the LVMS ticket office at 800-644-4444 or online at LVMS.com.
