One of short-track racing’s fastest events will make its debut at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this December.

The inaugural Open Wheel Showdown will take place on the iconic 3/8-mile facility Dec. 1-2. A winged sprint-car class will compete for a hefty $50,000, making it one of the highest-paying pavement sprint-car races in the country. In addition to the winged sprint cars, there will be a midgets feature as well.

Created by former King of the Wing and Southern Sprint Car Shootout Series champion Davey Hamilton Jr., the Open Wheel Showdown will bring competitors from all over the country to one of the nation’s most exciting short tracks.
