One of NASCAR’s biggest championship battles is headed back to Las Vegas. One month from today, the South Point 400 will put the NASCAR Cup Series’ top drivers on the 1.5-mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway oval, where the Chase will continue to take shape with the championship picture on the line.
The South Point 400 will headline the 2026 Fall NASCAR Chase Weekend, Oct. 2–4, as the NASCAR Cup Series returns for the second time this season. With the championship Chase heating up, the stakes will be high when NASCAR’s top drivers take to the track for 400 miles of racing under the Las Vegas sun.
“Crossing the 30-day mark means race weekend is right around the corner,” said Patrick Lindsey, Sr. Vice President and General Manager of Las Vegas Motor Speedway. “The energy is building, and we’re looking forward to welcoming fans back to Las Vegas for an exciting weekend of NASCAR racing, entertainment and unforgettable experiences at our track.”
The weekend gets underway Friday, Oct. 2, at The Bullring with the Kyle Busch Classic presented by Star Nursery, a CARS Tour Series West event that will kick off three days of racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
NASCAR action continues Saturday, Oct. 3, when the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series takes to the 1.5-mile oval for the Focused Health 302. The race is scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. green flag, with gates opening at 11 a.m.
The focus shifts to the NASCAR Cup Series on Sunday, Oct. 4, for the South Point 400. The green flag is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. as drivers battle for a crucial Chase victory with the NASCAR Cup Series championship picture continuing to take shape.
Away from the track, fans can experience the sights and sounds of NASCAR throughout the weekend with a variety of entertainment and fan activities. Race weekend experiences include Fan Zone and Neon Garage access, the Drivers’ Red Carpet, a pre-race concert and driver introductions, giving fans plenty of opportunities to get closer to the action.
Fans looking for an elevated race-day experience can also take advantage of premium hospitality options, including the Blackjack Club, Race Control Loge and Vegas Loge suites.
The South Point 400 marks the return of NASCAR to Las Vegas for the second time in 2026 and gives fans another opportunity to experience the speed, competition and entertainment that have made Las Vegas Motor Speedway a key stop on the NASCAR schedule.
