Two-time Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling vocalist, songwriter and composer Matthew Santos is set to perform the National Anthem before the South Point 400 NASCAR Cup Series Chase Race on Sunday, October 4, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
A Minneapolis native and Filipino-American artist, Santos has built a distinguished career with his unmistakable voice, which helped define Lupe Fiasco’s hit single “Superstar.” The multi-platinum song earned Santos a Grammy nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and introduced his distinctive sound to audiences worldwide. Santos later joined Fiasco on a world tour, performing for audiences across the country and internationally.
Throughout his career, Santos has brought his music to some of the biggest stages. He has performed on The Late Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live! and has appeared at major music festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo. His work as a vocalist and songwriter has continued to evolve throughout the years, most recently with the release of his new single, “Friends.”
Now based in Los Angeles, Santos continues to pursue a diverse career spanning live performance, songwriting, recording and screen composition. His ability to move between genres and creative disciplines has made him a versatile presence in the music and entertainment industries.
Santos will perform the National Anthem as part of the South Point 400’s pre-race festivities before NASCAR’s stars take to the 1.5-mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the 2:30 P.M. South Point 400 NASCAR Cup Series Chase Race.
The South Point 400 will headline the 2026 Fall NASCAR Chase Weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, taking place October 2–4. In addition to Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Chase Race, the weekend will feature the Focused Health 302 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Chase Race on Saturday, October 3, along with a variety of fan activities and entertainment throughout the weekend.
