Las Vegas Motor Speedway celebrated the next chapter of The Bullring, bringing together motorsports, community representatives and racing fans to highlight the return and expansion of the historic 3/8-mile track.
Upon arrival, guests headed into The Bullring were welcomed by a live band to the newly repaved track. The event featured remarks from Las Vegas Motor Speedway Senior Vice President and General Manager Patrick Lindsey, NASCAR Hall of Famer and Las Vegas native Kurt Busch, CARS Tour President Tim Huddleston, Formula Drift founder Ryan Sage, Open Wheel Showdown founder Davey Hamilton Jr. and Clark County Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick.
Lindsey welcomed guests and highlighted Las Vegas Motor Speedway's commitment to expanding the racing and entertainment opportunities available at the facility. He also emphasized the importance of reigniting grassroots racing and establishing The Bullring as a venue where racers, fans and the local community can continue to experience a wide range of motorsports and entertainment.
"Today is about more than a ribbon cutting; it's about bringing new energy and new opportunities to The Bullring and the grassroots racing community," Lindsey said. "We want this to be a place where young drivers can get their start, where longtime fans can reconnect with the sport and where new fans can experience the excitement of short-track racing. We're proud to continue investing in The Bullring and building its future alongside our partners and the Southern Nevada community."
Huddleston discussed the importance of grassroots racing and the CARS Tour's role in developing the next generation of competitors before highlighting the upcoming Kyle Busch Classic presented by Star Nursery. Kurt Busch shared his excitement for the event and reflected on his memories racing at The Bullring, bringing a personal connection to the venue's continued evolution.
"Coming back to The Bullring and seeing what's happening here is pretty special," Busch said. "This place has always been a big part of racing in Las Vegas, and it's where so many drivers have been able to get their start and chase their dreams. To see the track continuing to grow and bring different forms of racing together is something I know the racing community here will be excited about."
The event also featured representatives from Formula Drift and the Sorenson family, as well as Hamilton, who discussed the Open Wheel Showdown and its place in the growing lineup of grassroots racing events at The Bullring. Clark County Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick recognized the investment in the facility and the opportunities it creates for the Southern Nevada community.
After the remarks, Lindsey, Busch, Huddleston, Sage, Hamilton and Kirkpatrick joined for a ceremonial ribbon cutting before media interviews and drifting laps gave guests a chance to experience the newly repaved Bullring firsthand.
The Kyle Busch Classic presented by Star Nursery will take place Friday, October 2, at The Bullring during the 2026 Fall NASCAR Chase Weekend. The event will feature CARS Tour West, Modifieds, Bandoleros, Legends, CARS Tour Pro Late Models and Limited Late Models.
