A star-studded lineup of honorary race officials will help kick off one of the most exciting playoff races of the NASCAR season during the South Point 400 NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, October 12.

Among those taking part are Nevada’s Summerlin South Little League team, who will serve as honorary starters for the race, dropping the green flag to get the action underway officially. The team made history this year with an incredible run in the U.S. Little League World Series, capturing the U.S. championship after an 8-2 victory in the semifinals. Representing Nevada with pride and determination, the team’s journey to the title game showcased the heart, teamwork, and sportsmanship that define Summerlin South Little League.

Joining the celebration on race day are three of professional rodeo’s biggest stars. Stetson Wright, currently ranked No. 2 in bull riding and No. 12 in saddle bronc riding, is an eight-time PRCA World Champion. His brother, Ryder Wright, holds the No. 1 world ranking in saddle bronc riding and is a three-time PRCA World Champion. Rounding out the lineup is Leighton Berry, a bareback rider and four-time Wrangler NFR qualifier. Together, these elite athletes embody the grit, determination, and championship spirit shared by both NASCAR and rodeo.

Among the group will be this year's 2025 Speedway Legend, Jimmy Spencer. Spencer is a retired NASCAR driver who built his legacy on toughness, emotion, and an unrelenting drive to win. He earned early success in Modified racing before stepping up to NASCAR’s national series, where he became known as “Mr. Excitement” for his aggressive and fearless style behind the wheel. He won two Cup Series races in 1994 and is one of the few drivers to score victories in all three of NASCAR’s top divisions.

Fans attending the South Point 400 will have the unique opportunity to see these accomplished athletes and rising young stars honored together in a celebration of excellence on and off the field. It’s a moment that captures the energy and diversity of talent that make Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s events truly special.
