After an enthusiastic return to competition last month kicking off the 37th year of action, the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway brings Round 2 of the 10-race 2021 short track series to the popular 3/8-mile paved oval Saturday night for a special “Mother’s Day” edition of the program starting at 6:45 p.m.

After a 13-month layoff due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the local racers revisited the Bullring on April 17 in a spirited season-opening Saturday night with some sensational side-by-side racing and bumper-to-bumper battles among all of the classes including the night’s finale, a 40-lap NASCAR 602 Mojave Construction Modified main event.

This Saturday’s Bullring activities will feature a variety of drivers and machinery from youngsters in USLCI Legends and Bandoleros up to former and current track champions in the fast NASCAR Super Late Models, NASCAR Pro Late Models and NASCAR 602 Modifieds. Other divisions in action this Saturday will be the popular NASCAR Bombers, Late Model Trucks and NASCAR Skid Plate cars. Blooming Memory Flowers has donated 500 carnations for the first 500 mothers who attend Saturday’s night event.

“We enjoyed a great event last month after a long absence at the Bullring,” said Bullring manager TJ Clark. “We had a very short time to get the word out to our racers and fans and the turnout was outstanding for both that opening night. Now, we move to a busy May schedule with Saturday programs on May 8, May 15 and May 29. We expect more competitors this month as well as fans to witness some superb racing.”

The 2021 Bullring schedule is set for remaining Saturday programs on May 8, May 15, May 29, June 5, June 19, July 3, Sept. 4, Sept. 11, Sept. 23 (with the ARCA Menards Series West) and Nov. 6 (Open Competition). This year’s short track season at the Bullring marks the 21st year in the oval’s current configuration and has produced many local great racers including Kurt and Kyle Busch, Brendan Gaughan, Noah Gragson and Riley Herbst.

Expected to return to action this Saturday night will be last month’s feature winners including double main event winner Jeffrey Peterson of Grand Terrace, Calif., in the Super and Pro Late Models; Modifieds victor Justin Johnson of Las Vegas; Las Vegas’ Court Connell in the Bombers, Ben Williams also of Las Vegas in the Skid Plate Cars; 13-year-old Tyler Reif in the USCLI Legends and young Ashton Leonard in the USCLI Bandoleros.

Gates open at 5 p.m., with on-track action set to start with Late Model Truck Series Heat races, then NASCAR Pro Late Model qualifying and NASCAR 602 Modified qualifying. Opening ceremonies will take place at 6:45 p.m. Children 12 and under will be admitted free with a ticketed adult on Saturday and throughout the 2021 Bullring season. Purchase tickets in advance by visiting or calling the LVMS ticket office at 800-644-4444 or online at LVMS.com.
