This weekend, pajama-clad runners and walkers will converge upon Las Vegas Motor Speedway for an event unlike any other.

Casual attire will be right in line with the theme for the ninth annual PJ 5K Run & 1-Mile Walk, which runs through the 1.5-mile speedway Glittering Lights displays. The wildly popular fundraiser event hosted by the Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities on Sunday, Nov. 13, invites participants to run, walk or push strollers through the course in their favorite pajamas.

Register online or come out early on Nov. 13 to register onsite prior to the start of the race at 4:30 p.m. Those who register early can pick up their entry packets at the Orleans Hotel & Casino from 3 - 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 10.

Glittering Lights is Nevada’s largest drive-through Christmas light show and features more than five million LED lights and hundreds of sparkling light displays. Anyone who brings a new pair of children’s PJs to donate will have a chance to win two tickets to the 2023 Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube at LVMS, which runs March 3–5.

Entry fees range from $15-$35, and children age 5 and under can participate for free. Participants can register at speedwaycharities.org/lasvegas or by contacting Paulette Anderson at 702-917-6493 or [email protected].

Everyone who signs up will receive a race bib, an event medal, and cookies and milk, and awards will be given to the best overall female and best overall male. There will also be plenty of raffle prizes available, entertainment for all, pictures with local mascots, and MORE.

The SCC PJ 5K is sponsored by LVMS, Academica Nevada, Las Vegas Review-Journal/Las Vegas Sun, Nostalgia Street Rods, Reyes Coca-Cola, Worthgroup Architects & Designs, and Glittering Lights. Funds raised will help local children with social, medical, physical and financial needs, and all money raised by SCC stays in Southern Nevada.
