Midnight Mayhem, Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s safe alternative to illegal street racing, is returning to the famed Strip at LVMS on June 25.

This will be the first of a five-night schedule that will allow local racing enthusiasts to bring their cars to the iconic quarter-mile facility to match horsepower with friends, foes, or random racers.

Midnight Mayhem began more than 20 years as a way to curb illegal street racing in the Las Vegas Valley. The program has been endorsed by local law enforcement and has proven effective in reducing the number of street racing incidents on the valley’s roadways.

Participants must drive their own cars to the track and all tires must be street-legal treaded tires. One passenger will be allowed to ride with the driver down the track, with limitations on speed, vehicles must run 14 seconds or slower (in order to have a passenger present).

Competitor gates open at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m. for most of the events. Spectator gates open at 7 p.m.
