Bullring Driver Spotlight: Kayli Barker
What classes are you racing this season?
I’m racing a Modified and Super Late Model this season, maybe Pro Late too.
What are your car numbers and why?
My car number is 34 Plus 2. Before I started racing I wanted to be number 34 like my dad, but our friend/sponsor Morris Sealy raced number 36 and jokingly told me that I couldn’t be apart of the cool group if I wasn’t number 36. So as a joke we made my number 34 Plus 2 and it stuck.
What did you race last season?
I raced both the Modified and Super Late Model last season.
What other tracks have you raced at?
I have raced at Havasu 95 Speedway, Madera Speedway, Orange Show Speedway, 1/3 mile at Irwindale Speedway, Tucson Speedway, and at Rocky Mountain Raceway.
What do you like about the Bullring?
I like the speed The Bullring has... and it’s home.
If there was a magic race genie, what would you race, on what track and why?
I would race my Super Late Model at Martinsville, that would be cool. Maybe one day we can make it there!
What are your future racing goals?
My future racing goals are to just win races. We don’t have a big checkbook so I just want to have fun and win.
What is your favorite pizza topping?
My favorite pizza toppings are pepperoni and sausage on a Chicago-style deep-dish pizza.
What advice would you give to a young person interested in being a race car driver?
I would tell them to never stop pursuing their goals. With hard work and perseverance, goals can be achieved.
